Procedure coverage

Three of Westheimer’s four runway ends have published approaches, leaving one without a direct instrument procedure. The mix includes an ILS, RNAV (GPS) and localiser options, so coverage is not confined to a single approach type. Eleven departure charts against five approach plates give the set a marked departure emphasis, while eight arrival charts provide substantial inbound routing coverage. The two intersecting runways offer different alignments; runway 18/36 provides 451 ft more length than 03/21.

Regional chart context

Nearby procedure coverage varies sharply. Will Rogers, Wiley Post and Tinker have chart sets comparable with or broader than Westheimer’s, whereas David Jay Perry and Clarence E Page have much thinner coverage. The Dallas–Ft Worth sectional adds the wider VFR context around Norman that terminal procedure charts do not provide.
