PDX’s approach set reaches five of its six runway ends, leaving one end without a published instrument approach. Coverage is deep rather than evenly minimal: ILS and localiser procedures sit alongside RNAV (GPS) approaches and a VOR option, with one ILS carrying CAT II/III minima. The 24 approach charts are therefore concentrated across the five served ends, providing multiple procedures overall for each covered direction.
The two parallel 10/28 runways are substantially longer than 03/21; the 5,000 ft difference between the longest and shortest strips makes them dimensionally distinct planning options. Hillsboro has the broadest chart coverage among nearby fields, while Pearson Field has the thinnest.
