Newport News/Williamsburg International has instrument approaches serving all four ends of its two differently aligned runways. The mix of ILS, RNAV (GPS) and localiser procedures provides more than one form of instrument guidance within the overall set, rather than concentrating coverage on a single runway direction. Runway 07/25 is 1,477 ft longer than 02/20, making the difference in available runway length operationally significant.
Langley AFB has almost equally broad procedure coverage, with only one fewer published chart. The other nearby fields have much thinner sets, ranging from four to seven charts. The Washington Sectional adds wider VFR context beyond the airport-specific terminal procedures.
