Instrument procedures serve three of the six runway ends, so coverage is concentrated rather than available for every alignment. The seven approach charts include ILS, localiser, RNAV (GPS) and VOR procedures, combining precision, satellite-based and conventional guidance. Two runways are almost identical at just over 12,000 ft, while the third is 6,000 ft; the layout therefore pairs two long runway axes with a markedly shorter one.
Edwards AFB and Mojave Air & Space Port/Rutan Field have chart sets of broadly similar size, while General William J Fox Airfield and Whiteman have thinner coverage. Bob Hope stands apart with a substantially larger procedure set. The Los Angeles Sectional adds the broader visual-planning context not provided by the airport-specific instrument charts.
