Whiteman’s two published approaches—one RNAV (GPS) and one VOR—serve the same runway end. The reciprocal end therefore has no published instrument approach. With only runway 12/30 available, all operations centre on a single 4,120 ft strip, without a second runway alignment.
Instrument coverage is much broader at every listed nearby field. Burbank and Van Nuys have similarly substantial sets of 27 and 28 charts, while Santa Monica has 24. Hawthorne’s 15-chart set is the thinnest among them but still exceeds Whiteman’s six; Los Angeles International is in a separate range with 103. The Los Angeles Sectional provides wider visual-navigation coverage, while the Terminal Area Chart supplies more detailed VFR context around Los Angeles than the airport-specific instrument procedures.
