Approach coverage across both runway alignments

Northeast Philadelphia’s procedure set serves all four runway ends rather than concentrating instrument access on one alignment. RNAV (GPS) forms most of the approach coverage, while the ILS and localiser provide ground-based alternatives. With one runway at 7,000 ft and the other at 4,999 ft, a change of alignment also changes the available runway length by 2,001 ft—a significant distinction when determining which runway can accommodate an aircraft.

Local chart context

Trenton Mercer has the broadest nearby procedure collection and is the only listed field with more charts than PNE. South Jersey Regional and Flying W have around half PNE’s coverage, while Wings Field and Doylestown are thinner still. The New York and Washington sectionals provide broader VFR context, while the Philadelphia Terminal Area Chart adds a more focused terminal-area view.
