Approach coverage at Ulysses

Ulysses has an RNAV (GPS) approach to each end of both runways, so the procedure set is evenly distributed across all four arrival directions rather than concentrated on one alignment. The trade-off is a lack of approach-type variety: every published approach uses RNAV (GPS). No airport diagram is published.

Runways and surrounding chart coverage

Runway 17/35 is 1,400 ft longer than 12/30, giving aircraft requiring more than 4,600 ft only one alignment on runway length alone. Among nearby fields, Garden City Regional has by far the broadest chart set, while Liberal Mid-America Regional also exceeds Ulysses. Stanton County Municipal, Hugoton Municipal and Syracuse-Hamilton County Municipal each have thinner coverage. The Wichita Sectional adds wider visual-navigation context absent from the instrument procedures.
