Melbourne International Airport

Melbourne International Airport (YMML) gets a practical gate and parking overhaul for Flight Simulator X, expanding international terminal stands to better fit widebodies such as the 747 and A380. Resized gates and updated ATC airline parking codes align bays with the correct terminals, improving AI traffic parking and realism.

Melbourne International Airport (YMML), Australia. An update to the default airport with many resized gates to allow larger aircraft to park at the international terminal. Parking codes have been aligned. By Garry Appleby.

This is a basic update of the FSX default YMML BGL airport file. Many gates resized where possible to enable larger aircraft such as b747s, A380s park in the international YMML terminal. I have also assigned ATC parking codes to all the parking spots. These parking codes have been aligned to the correct terminals. The BGL has been tested with VOZ and PAI aircraft.

There is one BGL file in this download (Melbourne Intl YMML.bgl).

  • NOTE: PLEASE ENSURE YOU USE ONE YMML BGL FILE AT A TIME. I.E Make sure there is only ONE 'ymml.BGL' FILE in the addon scenery/scenery folder at any time; delete any others.

To Install:

  1. Simply take the bgl zipped file, unzip it then put the unzipped bgl file into the Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery\Scenery Folder.
  2. Start up the FSX and the changes will be present.

To Uninstall:

  1. Delete the Melbourne Intl YMML.bgl file and the default will then be active.

I hope you like the improvements, this is only a basic gate change with several more minor changes added such as the ATC parking codes for those airlines that visit Melbourne International airport.

This AFCAD was edited and developed using FSX PLanner.

Happy flying. Regards,

Garry

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
  3. Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
