FSX RCAF Baden-Sollingen AB Scenery

Baden-Sollingen Air Base (EDSB) scenery refreshes the former RCAF Cold War station near Karlsruhe and Baden-Baden, now Baden Airpark, with updated stock layout, extensive parking, and real-world taxi routing for FSX. It adds a tower plus German-style hangars and shelters, and requires Jim Dhaenen’s hardened shelters library.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

Baden-Sollingen Air Base (EDSB) is located in southern Germany near the the cities of Karlsruhe and Baden-Baden and not far from the German/French border. During the cold war this airbase was used by the Royal Canadian Air Force. The airbase is now civil used as Baden Airpark. This scenery is an updated stock scenery and done with ADE X 1.50 and objects from stock. Also included are the tower, German style shelters and hangars by Malte Deja and Wolfgang Schroeder and Jim Dhaenen's hardened shelters. It has lots of parking spots and you can taxi everywhere as it is in real. By Uwe Steenweg.

Note: The Scenery has not been tested with any addon software like Ultimate Terrain Europe X or VFR Germany.

Installation of Jim Dhaenens hardened shelters (if not already done):

  1. Unzip the file has_lib-1.zip where everyou like.
  2. Install the hardned shelters as given in the attached readme file.

Installation of Malte Deja's and Wolfgang Schroeder`s buildings (if not already done):

  1. Unzip the zip file Malte_Dejas_Objects.zip where ever you want
  2. Move the content of the folder texture to your FSX/Addon Scenery/texture folder
  3. Move the content of the folder scenery to your FSX/Addon Scenery/Scenery folder

Installation of my work:

  1. Unzip the files anywhere
  2. To get RCAF Baden-Sollingen AB move the two .bgl files of the Folder EDSB_RCAF-Baden-Sollingen-AB_V1 called - EDSB_ADEX_US_V-1.BGL and EDSB_ADEX_US_V-1_CVX.bgl - to your FSX /Addon Scenery /scenery Folder.

Remove:

Just delete the files from the folders mentioned above.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
