FSX Pitcairn Islands Photoreal Scenery

Pitcairn Islands photoreal scenery recreates Pitcairn, Henderson, Ducie, and Oeno with crisp 1 m/pixel textures and coastline detail, plus four fictional airports for quick island-hopping exploration in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. It requires a higher-resolution mesh than default for the best terrain shaping and approaches.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

Pitcairn Islands is a small group of islands in the South Pacific, made famous by the Bounty mutineers in the 18th century. Today the islands are British Oversees Territory. This package includes all four islands: Pitcairn, Henderson, and the two atolls of Ducie and Oeno. Texture resolution 1m/pixel. Includes four fictional airports as starting points to explore the islands. By Tiberius Kowalski.

How to install:

  • Close FSX.
  • Extract zip file to your hard drive, this will create the folder [PITCAIRN_ISLANDS]
  • Go to [Microsoft Flight Simulator X] ---> [Scenery] ---> [0105] ---> [Scenery] and move files "cvx1340" and "cvx1440" to your [PITCAIRN_ISLANDS] folder. You have to move them, not copy them, they have to disappear from that folder.
  • Run FSX.
  • Go to "Scenery Library" and add folder [PITCAIRN_ISLANDS].
  • Now you can choose the airports of Ducie (NJDC), Henderson (NJHN), Oeno (NJOE) and Pircairn (NJPI) and off you go!

Settings:

  • You need a better mesh than the default fsx mesh (at least 76m/pixel).
  • Set mesh resolution to 38m/pixel.
  • Set texture resolution to 1m/pixel.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
