FSX Georgetown Municipal Airport

Georgetown Municipal Airport (KGTU) scenery refreshes the stock field with updated taxiways, ramp layout, signs, tower details, fuel trucks, and chart-based parking. Custom SketchUp terminal and FBO buildings add local character, while static aircraft and T-hangars enhance the apron atmosphere in Microsoft Flight Simulator X; requires Kevin Burn’s static aircraft library and Jim Dhaenen’s T-hangars.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

(KGTU), Georgetown, Texas (TX), USA. AFCAD for default/stock FSX airport only. Made with ADE 9X. Uses Kevin Burn's static aircraft library and Jim Dhaenen's t-hangars. Updates taxiways, ramps according to the latest charts, Google satellite and other images, adds tower, fuel trucks, etc. Uses custom buildings (terminal, Georgetown Jet Center and Aero Centex FBO's, and Pilots Choice Aviation Flight School) made in Google Sketchup. Installation:

Copy all the folders into your Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/scenery folder. If you already have Jim Dhaenens lights or T-hangars, but not both installed, delete them. Activate all three folders in the scenery library in FSX and restart.

This updates Georgetown according to the latest charts and google satellite imagery. Updates taxiways, taxisigns,and ramp. The Georgetown Jet Center and Aero Centex FBO's, terminal, and Pilots Choice Aviation Flight School were designed in google sketchup. Uses Kevin Burns and Jim Dhaenens amazing static aircraft library and T-Hangars.

Important note on parking, when your loading your aircraft at a parking spot in FSX you might notice different denotations for parking. This is to avoid confusion when trying to load at a particular area at the airport. The denotations are:

  • GATE_G: Georgetown Jet Center
  • PARKING_ (NORMAL): Main GA/Terminal Ramp
  • GATE_A: Aero Centex
  • GATE_P: Pilots Choice Aviation Flight School

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
