FS2004 USAF Douglas SC-45D

Air Rescue Service 45-1012 repaint only for the MAAM-SIM C-47B. By Markus Hellwig.

The USAF Air Rescue Service (ARS) operated 33 SC-47s upon its formation in 1946. By June 1948, when the ARS was absorbed by the Military Air Transport Service (MATS), the number of SC-47 had shrunk to about 15. But by 1955, nearly 80 C-47s had been converted to the search an rescue role, although they passed from the scene quickly as the SA-16A (Grumman) ALBATROSS and the SC-54D (Douglas) RESCUEMASTER became operational. In 1958, 30 ARS SC-47s were retired.

The depicted SC-47D (former C-47B with removed superchargers) 45-1012 was flown by ARS Detachment 6 out of Biggs Field, Texas in June 1948.

Installation:

• These are texture files only! Prior installation of the MAAM-SIM DC-3/C-47/R4D base pack and the C-47 'D-DAY' EXPANSION PACK, available from Mid-Atlantic Air Museum Simulations (MAAM-SIM) is required.
• Place the folder "texture.451012" into your "MAAM-SIM C-47A - Cargo" aircraft folder. BE SURE TO TAKE THE CORRECT AIRCRAFT FOLDER!
• Add the following lines to your aircraft.cfg-file, replacing the "[fltsim.X]" by the next number in order:
