FSX Bell P-59A Airacomet

Bell P-59A Airacomet recreates America’s first jet fighter with a period-accurate model that highlights its pioneering fuselage-integrated turbojet nacelles and early-war handling. Built for FSX, it includes a detailed virtual cockpit and gauges to support authentic 1940s turbojet procedures and classic U.S. Army Air Forces jet-era flying.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

This was the first United States jet fighter aircraft, designed and built during World War II. The USAAF was not impressed by its performance and canceled the contract when fewer than half of the aircraft ordered had been produced. Although no P-59 s went into combat, it paved the way for another design generation of U.S. turbojet-powered aircraft and was the first turbojet fighter to have its turbojet engine and inlet nacelles integrated within the main fuselage. Installation:

  • Copy the Bell 59a folder into your FSX/ Simobjects/ aircraft folder.
  • Copy the gauges in the gauges folder into your main FSX gauges folder.
  • That's it, your all done.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
