FSX Gloster Meteor F4 Texture Update

Gloster Meteor F4 repaints gain sharper panel and rivet lines, refined RAF stencil details, and a fresh bumpmap for improved surface depth and lighting. Designed for Peter Watkins’ textures on Rob Richardson’s aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator X Acceleration, it updates repaint sets created before 06/03/2014 and requires those repaints.

Significantly changed panel and rivet lines for the texture file 'meteor 1' and some stencil changes to the RAF 'meteor 4' and G-AIDC 'meteor 2' files. These are for Peter Watkin's repaints of Rob Richardson's Gloster Meteor F4 for Microsoft Flight Simulator X Acceleration. A new bumpmap file is also included. These files only apply to repaints created prior to 06/03/2014. Repaint files created by Peter Watkins.

Installation:

  • Copy the texture files into the appropriate Peter Watkins repaint folders in the 'Gloster Meteor F Mk 4' folder in FSX SimObjects 'Airplanes' folder overwriting the existing file when prompted.
  • Copy the 'meteor 1 bumpmap.dds' file and paste into each repaint folder, again overwriting the existing file when prompted.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme
