The Ilyushin Il-76 and Il-78Zh heavy transport arrives in FSX with a repaired virtual cockpit and an updated panel suite that restores key gauges, autopilot, GPS, radios, and tuned engine sounds. Original file and all credits go to the author of 52774-Il76-78zh available online. Note: Turing on the FD in autopilot will activate ground vehicles; autopilot will not work if you turn on 2D panel even once. Comes with a virtual cockpit.

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme

I'm very picky when it comes to the aircraft that I fly, however I have to say this one should be payware, flight dynamics are spot on, sound package is one of the best I've heard in quite some time, and virtual cockpit is very immersive a True joy to fly.

    IL-76 .....Cant remove the external trucks and ladders. They hang on at all times. Don't see a readme file to explain how so.

    Amazing! A perfect software and the sound is absolutely the best one. Everything in function, no problem with FSX Acceleration Gold Pack. Thanks for the standard FSX functions. Really a joy to fly this big bird.

    I have been working on better instrumentation and to make sure all gauges are working and I have made some progress that I would like to share and upload. Autopilot still not work if you turn on 2D panel though.

    Amazing aircraft! When I saw one for real, my first thought was, “WOW!” When I took this one up, my first thoughts on push-back and taxi was, “WOW!” It had to be one of the smoothest, most graceful aircraft I’ve ever handled. I’ve always had an interest in Cold War era aircraft, and this is one that you don’t see often, if at all. The flight dynamics were good, although it took a bit of getting used to being as I primarily fly fighters such as SU-33’s, F-4’s F-8’s, and MIG-29’s. Would I recommend this aircraft? YES!
