FSX Bombardier CSeries CS300 (BD500-1A11)

Bombardier CSeries CS300 (BD500-1A11) brings a lightweight, frame-rate friendly airliner with custom flight dynamics, a straightforward virtual cockpit using default gauges, and three included liveries: airBaltic YL-CSA, Air Canada, and Swiss HB-JCA. Built from scratch for FSX, it also suits AI traffic while keeping performance smooth.

Included are the liveries of airBaltic YL-CSA, Air Canada, and Swiss International Air Lines HB-JCA. This is my first model built from scratch for FSX. It was made using FSDS v3.5; the flight dynamics were created using airwrench; the panel was made with FS Panel Studios using default gauges.

Air Baltic CS300 in flight. This is not meant to be a complex model, therefore, it should be very frame rate friendly. Model, repaints, and flight dynamics by Hongming Zheng.

Repaints

Feel free to repaint this model and upload it where ever you like as long as you give me credit for the model and FDE.

This is my first model so the texture layout was made a little complicated than necessary. So here are some tips for repainting to avoid confusion.

  • The "CS300_backleft" and "CS300_backright" BMP files are not used to paint the fuselage back, use "CS300_fuselage_left_side" and "CS300_fuselage_right_side" instead. However don't bother painting the wing root area in these 2 files, since the actual wing root paint uses "CS300wingrootl" (for both left and right sides)
  • The "airbaltic" and "airbaltic2" BMP files are the outboard paint of the left and right winglets, respectively.
  • The nose of the aircraft is repainted from the front view, which may make it tricky to repaint and takes practice and experimentation.

Known Issues

  • Main exit's reflection doesn't match the rest of fuselage
  • Left MLG tire rolls funny
  • No spoiler animation yet

(None of these affect the aircraft's actual behavior and are just model issues)

Can It Be Used For AI Traffic?

Yes. This is also a relatively simple model so it should be FPS-friendly too.

Installation

Simply place the "Bombardier CSeries CS300" folder inside your main FSX's aircraft folder, this is usually found in C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X/SimObjects/Airplanes

The aircraft should show up under "Bombardier" in the FSX menu.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

A nice little A220 freeware add-on. Definitely a challenging one. Thank you so much!

    Best regards! Sami

This a bad addon. You cannot see through any window, including the cockpit, the VC is just stolen from the CRJ-700 with a poorly photoshopped logo, and the model just feels cheap. The flaps don't even animate properly and for some reason the reverse thrust is activated when you turn on the airbrakes, which renders them useless in the air.
