N1027C Repaint (Hi-Res) for Lionheart Creations FSX Wittman Tailwind W10 Trigear by George V. Trovato.

This download contains textures only for the Lionheart Creations Whittman Tailwind. This package is the Hi-Resolution version of the N1027C textures and includes both mip-mapped and non-mipped textures at 2048x2048 resolution. A Performance version of the textures is also available as a separate download which includes mipped and non-mipped versions of the textures at 1024x1024 resolution for those concerned about the memory footprint of the textures.

IMPORTANT:

You MUST own and have properly installed the Lionheart Creations Wittman Tailwind for this paint to work. This paint was designed for FSX, and will not work in FS2004 due to the use of DXT5 .DDS textures.

This paint was designed for and tested on the W10 Trigear variant only, though should work on the other W10 models.

INSTALLATION:
-------------
There are two folders included in this package, '2048 Mipped' and '2048 No Mips'. Both contain the exact same paint, but the textures in the '2048 Mipped' folder include mip-maps, while the textures in the '2048 No Mips' folder do not. Some folks think that mip-mapped textures look better, specially when viewed from a distance, while others find the textures less blurry if they are not mipped. You only need to copy the files from the folder for the version you wish to install.

Copy the "Texture.W10TG_N1027C" folder (from either the '2048 Mipped' or the '2048 No Mips' folders) into your "\SimObjects\Airplanes\Tailwind_W10_Trigear" folder.

To activate this aircraft in FSX, you will need to copy the appropriate fltsim.XX section below into the aircraft.cfg file found in the folder listed above, as the next aircraft entry. Remember to change the XX (from the fltsim.XX section below) to the next number in sequence, based on the highest numbered aircraft entry that already exists in your aircraft.cfg file.

For example, if the last aircraft entry in your aircraft.cfg is [fltsim.39], the XX for the [fltsim.XX] section below would need to be replaced with 40 so that it would read [fltsim.40].

Note: You may need to disable 'Show Tail Number' in the aircraft's 'Details' window from within FSX's 'Select Aircraft' screen.

TO ACTIVATE THIS PAINT:

Browse to your Tailwind_W10_Trigear folder (found in "\SimObjects\Airplanes\Tailwind_W10_Trigear") and edit your aircraft.cfg file, using a text editor such as Notepad (Do NOT use Wordpad). There are two separate sections below that can be pasted into your aircraft.cfg file. Only copy and paste ONE of them, based on if your screen is widescreen or not.

If you install the mip-mapped version of the textures, and think you would prefer the non-mipped versions (or vice-versa), you may simply copy the other version's textures over the ones you already installed, being sure to overwrite the existing textures. The same applies if you decide to try the performance textures version vs the hi-resolution version. You will not need to edit the aircraft.cfg file again.
