FSX MacDill AFB Scenery

MacDill AFB (KMCF) in Tampa, Florida gets a sharper, more realistic military base layout for FSX, with expanded cargo parking, new helipads, a fire station with trucks, static ground vehicles, and reworked hangars. Updated taxiways, ramps, and apron surfaces follow current diagrams and satellite references, using only stock objects and requiring no extra libraries.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

MacDill AFB Scenery.

MS didn't do much with military bases in FSX. Here is an improved version of the stock MacDill AFB. I added many Military_Cargo parking spaces. Added the fire station with fire trucks, added helipads, static fork trucks, military trucks, and several parking lots with cars. I removed the five main hangars and replaced them with ones that are more realistic. Added and adjusted taxiways and changed some from asphalt to concrete along with ramps and aprons.

I use Just Flight's Military Plus Packs and they work fine with this airport. I also use Ultimate Terrain and FSGenesis landclass but they are not required. All objects are stock FSX so no additional object libraries are needed. Updates made using AirNav diagrams and Google Earth to be as accurate as possible. All work done with Flight 1's AFX program and Instant Scenery.

KNOWN ISSUE:

If you have Ultimate Terrain USA, you will have traffic driving across the main ramp as the air base is incorrectly placed over a road. If it bothers you, you'll have to turn off highway traffic.

I will be doing other military bases as time permits.

INSTALLATION:

Extract the two files AFX_KMCF_JC.bgl and KMCF_JC.bgl into your Addon Scenery/Scenery folder, re-start FSX and enjoy.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

Use these coordinates to fly directly to this location once the mod is installed.
