This scenery package represents Altus AFb, Oklahoma, home of the 97th Air Mobility Wing. Altus is the training center for all C-17 Globemaster and KC135 refueling tanker crews for the US Air Force. They formerly trained C-5 Galaxy crews also, but no more. The scenery is composed of custom buildings and hangars built with Google Sketchup, EZ scenery buildings and hangars, and a few leftover default objects. The AFCAD parks the aircraft in correct position per Google Earth and photographs. It is built using a modified "plumbing" drive-thru method, so aircraft have a more realistic taxi and parking pattern. Fuel truck routes have been added to the fuel dumps at either end of the airport. (the southwest fuel dump is being serviced by the railroad. Check it out!) Comm frequencies have been corrected. Downloading and installing the AI package will station 15 C-17 Globemasters and 18 KC135s at the base. They should park in their assigned areas. The C-17s of the 58th Airlift Squadron park in the South Parking area, the KC135s, in North Parking. Both utilize the maintenance facilities in the Southwest Parking area.
