FSX Hagerstown Regional Airport Scenery

Hagerstown Regional Airport (KHGR) scenery refreshes the stock field in Maryland with reworked aprons, taxiways, and roads, plus replaced and added buildings, corrected control tower placement, and extra static vehicles, aircraft, and lighting. Built entirely from stock objects for FSX, it requires no additional object libraries while extending runway length beyond default.

Hagerstown Regional Airport (KHGR), Hagerstown, Maryland (MD). An improved version with adjusted aprons and roads, replaced buildings, moved control tower, added static vehicles and more. By Jim Cook.

Hagerstown Regional Airport Scenery.

Hagerstown Regional Airport Scenery.

Here is an improved version of the stock Hagerstown Regional Airport. I adjusted and added aprons, taxiways, and roads to more closely match real life. Most default buildings were replaced and many other buildings added. I moved the control tower to the correct location. Added static vehicles, aircraft, lightpoles, etc.

Allegiant Air flies in and out of Hagerstown and I assigned gates to them. The runway has been lengthened in real life to 7000'. I lengthened the runway in FSX but it didn't fit between I-81 and Rt. 11. So much for accurate roads. I ended up making it 6000' which is still longer than the stock airport.

I use Ultimate Terrain and FSGenesis landclass but they are not required. All objects are stock FSX so no additional object libraries are needed. Updates made using AirNav diagrams and Google Earth to be as accurate as possible. All work done with Flight 1's AFX program and Instant Scenery.

INSTALLATION:

Extract the two files KHGR_AFX_JC.bgl and KHGR_JC.bgl into your Addon Scenery/Scenery folder, re-start FSX and enjoy.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
  3. Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

Regarding KHGR Update. The Runway 09/27 actually runs over US11. They installed a bridge several years ago to facilitate the runway extension. My home airport.

Just a note about the runway fitting between I81 & US11. I live in the area and the runway was extended OVER US11. There is a road tunnel under the runway extension.
