FSX Mock Airport Scenery

Mock Airport (3NJ5) scenery for FSX removes the defunct Flemington, New Jersey grass strip so it no longer protrudes through underlying ground textures, leaving a cleaner, more accurate landscape. Designed to blend with MegaScenery Earth New Jersey/Delaware 001, it minimizes apron coverage and places elements to match the satellite imagery.

Mock Airport (3NJ5), NJ. Located in Flemington, New Jersey, Mock Airport is a closed airstrip. Nowhere in the area could be found anyplace suitable for the grass strip FSX insists belongs there, and the airport has been removed from aviation databases. This scenery simply removes the grass strip so it's not sticking out atop the ground textures. By Drew Sikora.

This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New Jersey/Delaware 001. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

Installation:

Unzip the folder 3NJ5 to wherever you stash your add-on scenery, then activate within the FSX scenery library.

When layering in your scenery library, this airport file MUST be layered ON TOP of MegaScenery Earth layers. If you do not do this, you will get floating runways in areas with hills and mountains depending on how detailed your terrain mesh is.

This airport uses no external scenery objects.

NOTE: the airport AD2 file in the main airport directory is the Airport Design Editor file for anyone that wants to further tweak the airport.

There is no reason installation of this scenery should harm your computer. I will not be held responsible for any damage occured to your computer as result of installing this scenery. Use at your own risk.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
