Harrismith Airport (FAHR) v2 scenery recreates the South African general aviation airfield with updated photoreal ground textures and improved local detail, set amid one of the region’s most scenic landscapes near the historic wool district town. Designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator X to enhance VFR navigation and circuit work.

Harrismith Airport, South Africa (FAHR) v2. Harrismith is the center of one of the five wool producing districts in Southern Africa. It was established in 1849. The airfield is used for general aviation and is situated in one of the more beautiful parts of South Africa. New photoreal and so on in v2. By Frits Beyer and Jacques Botha.

Instructions:

1.Unzip "Harrismith V2.0.zip" to a temp folder.

2.Copy the "Harrismith Airport(FAHR)" folder to your "FSX/scenery" folder.

3.Copy the "AFX_FAHR_ALT.bgl" file to your "FSX/scenery/world/scenery" folder and the effects to effects folder.

4.Run FSX.

5.On the main page go to "settings".

6.Now click on "scenery library".

7.Now click on "Add area" and search for the scenery folder.

8.Double click on the scenery folder and look for the"Harrismith Airport(FAHR)" folder.

9.NB !!!!!! click on this folder only once ! and then click on "OK".

10.The scenery will now load !

11.Go to free flight and choose "FAHR" to start your flight !

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
