FSX / P3D Repaint

FSX Fairchild PT-19B

Fairchild PT-19B Yellow and Silver repaint refreshes Tim Conrad’s classic trainer with crisp textures and an authentic period look for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, including an updated thumbnail for easy selection. Textures only, it keeps the original flight model and virtual cockpit intact, and requires the PT-19-1.ZIP base package.

Texture Installation :

1 - Unzip the pt19ys.zip file to a temporary folder.

2 - Open your airplanes folder in FSX and find and open the folder "PT-19". Find the folder named "texture" and copy it, then rename it "texture.yel".

3 - Open the temporary folder and find the files "pt19_01.dds" and "thumbnail.jpg". Copy both files into the "texture.yel" over writing the existing files.

4 - Open the "Aircraft.cfg" file (make a backup copy first). Cut and paste the text below into the cfg file underneath the last [fltsim.*] entry (change the xx to the next number).

Requires dependencies

This file is a repaint — the package below is the base model it paints onto. Install it first, or the textures will have nothing to load onto.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D Repaint
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Add livery to base aircraft folder

Place the texture folder (typically texture.{airline}) inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\{base-aircraft}\.
  3. Update aircraft.cfg

Open the base aircraft.cfg in Notepad. Add a new [fltsim.X] section per the readme.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
