FSX 1936 Ryan STA And PT-16

1936 Ryan STA and PT-16 bring classic open-cockpit sport flying to FSX with detailed models and textures by SWingman, plus a corrected altimeter in v1.1. The package uses stock FS2004 gauges, effects, and sounds, supports manual prop-start, and ties cowl panel opening to the spoiler control for extra immersion.

Installation:

If you have my Ryan beta version installed - delete that first.

  1. Unpack files to \...\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\
  2. Have fun!

It's impossible to see the fuel gauge through the passenger's head, so, move your camera to the side. Or ask your passenger to bend down.

No sense to fill the fuel tank more than half for aerobatics.

STA engine can be started manually:

  1. Switch to "engine start" view.
  2. Click on a prop blade.

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

    Many of your offerings have too many caveats. You need to make a simpler install and always denote no VC when applicable.
