At the launch of this 5th Edition of "Crowded Skies", IVAO indicated that they expect this edition to be a world-wide and record breaking event on the IVAO network. Crowded Skies V follows similar events held in the past which have attracted as many as 1,941 simultaneous connections. IVAO expected Crowded Skies V to exceed the previous edition of Crowded Skies – and set a new record of simultaneous connections.

At the launch of Crowded Skies V, all Pilots and ATC were invited to come and join the online flight simulation event on the IVAO Network. ‘The chance to get closest to the real world of aviation’ – this is what the program offered every flight simulation enthusiast.
IVAO reports on their website that the Crowded Skies V event did establish a new record – it was a huge success with a record breaking 2,303 simultaneous connections. This exceeds the earlier record set in 2008 of 1,941. IVAO reported that pilots, ATC and their staff all contributed towards making this event a resounding success.
