John F Kennedy Meml’s five approaches cover all four ends of runways 02/20 and 13/31, so instrument procedure coverage is not confined to the longer runway. Four are RNAV (GPS), while the localiser provides a ground-based option within an otherwise satellite-based set. Choosing 13/31 means 1,699 ft less runway than the 5,197 ft 02/20, but offers a different alignment.
Gogebic/Iron County and Sawyer County each have five published charts, placing their coverage closest to Ashland’s seven-chart set. Major Gilbert Field is somewhat thinner, while Cable Union and Solon Springs Muni have only two charts each. No airport diagram is published. The Green Bay Sectional supplies wider-area VFR context beyond the instrument procedures.
