Procedure coverage

Every end of Nashville International’s four runways has a published approach, so the procedure set is not concentrated on a single alignment. It combines ILS, localiser and RNAV (GPS) coverage, with two ILS procedures carrying CAT II/III minima. The three parallel 02/20 runways provide similar lengths, while runway 13/31 extends beyond 11,000 ft, giving the field a distinct longer-runway option. The substantial departure collection also shows that outbound routing forms a major part of the chart set.

Regional context

Smyrna has the broadest chart coverage among the nearby fields, but its set remains much thinner than Nashville’s; John C Tune, Lebanon Municipal, Music City Executive and Murfreesboro Municipal are thinner again. The Atlanta and St Louis sectional charts add regional VFR context beyond the terminal procedures.

Does KBNA have CAT II or CAT III approaches?

Yes. 2 of the published ILS procedures carry CAT II/III minima, which allow approaches in lower visibility than a standard CAT I ILS. Those plates are listed separately in the approach table above, marked CAT II or CAT III in the chart name.

Is KBNA a towered airport?

Yes. Nashville Intl has an operating control tower, within Memphis Center's airspace. Tower, ground and clearance frequencies are listed on this page.

How many runways does KBNA have?
