Detroit Metro Wayne County’s approach set is concentrated on eight runway ends, with several procedures available for each served end. The mix of 29 ILS, 26 RNAV (GPS) and eight localiser approaches provides both ground-based and satellite-based procedure coverage; five ILS procedures include CAT II/III minima. Six dimensioned concrete runways range from 8,500 ft to 12,003 ft, combining parallel 03/21 and 04/22 alignments with the 09/27 pair.
Nearby procedure coverage is much thinner than at DTW. Willow Run has the broadest neighbouring set, while Ann Arbor, Grosse Ile and Custer are similarly represented; Canton-Plymouth-Mettetal has only two charts. The Detroit Sectional supplies wider-area VFR context, the Terminal Area Chart adds more focused Detroit-area detail, and the Helicopter Route Chart covers the published helicopter-route structure.
