Willow Run’s six approach charts serve three of its four runway ends, leaving one end without a published instrument approach. The mix includes ILS, RNAV (GPS), VOR and localiser procedures, giving the served ends several forms of guidance. Fourteen departure charts against six approach charts make this a notably departure-heavy set. The two runway alignments also differ substantially in length: 05/23 provides 2,542 ft more than 09/27, so runway selection materially changes the distance available.
Nearby procedure coverage varies sharply. Detroit Metro Wayne County has a far broader chart set, while Ann Arbor Municipal and Grosse Ile Municipal are much closer to Willow Run in coverage; Canton-Plymouth-Mettetal and Oakland Southwest have only minimal published sets. For visual flying, the Detroit Sectional supplies regional context, the Terminal Area Chart adds a closer Detroit-area view, and the Helicopter Route Chart provides specialised route detail absent from the instrument procedures.
