Go PRODetroit, Windsor and the waterways linking Lake St Clair with western Lake Erie form the distinctive centre of this sheet. Coverage extends west towards the Jackson area, north across Detroit’s outer suburbs, and east into southern Ontario. The landscape is mostly low and comparatively flat, but the combination of dense urban development, industrial waterfronts, an international boundary and broad stretches of water gives the area a character unlike inland Michigan flying.
The chart concentrates on the Detroit region’s helicopter route environment in a single, self-contained sheet; there is no adjoining chart of the same type. Its footprint is broad enough to place the central metropolitan area within the wider south-eastern Michigan and Windsor–Essex setting.
For a wider regional overview, the corresponding Sectional Aeronautical Chart provides broader geographic coverage. The Terminal Area Chart offers a more enlarged treatment of the busy Detroit terminal region, while this product keeps the emphasis on helicopter routes and their immediate urban context.
