Approach coverage across five runway ends

Flying Cloud’s procedures serve five of its six runway ends, leaving only one without a published approach. The mix of ILS, RNAV (GPS), VOR and localiser procedures provides both satellite-based and conventional coverage, while a separate helicopter approach broadens the chart set beyond fixed-wing operations.

Runways and surrounding chart coverage

The parallel 10/28 runways differ materially in length, and only 10R/28L reaches 5,001 ft; the third, north–south runway is substantially shorter at 2,690 ft. Nearby, St Paul Downtown has chart coverage comparable in breadth to Flying Cloud, while Minneapolis–St Paul International’s set is much larger. Crystal and Airlake have markedly thinner collections, with South St Paul thinner still. The two sectionals add regional VFR context, while the Minneapolis–St Paul Terminal Area Chart provides a more detailed local depiction.
