ANOKA COUNTY/BLAINE has published approaches to three of its four runway ends, leaving one end without an instrument procedure. The four approach charts collectively provide ILS, localiser and RNAV (GPS) options, including precision guidance on one alignment. Seven departure procedures give the chart set a stronger departure emphasis than its approach coverage.
The two runway alignments are closely matched at 5,000 ft and 4,855 ft, so changing alignment entails little loss of available runway length. Nearby chart coverage varies sharply: ST PAUL DOWNTOWN has a broader set, while MINNEAPOLIS-ST PAUL INTL is broader still; CRYSTAL is thinner, and LAKE ELMO and SOUTH ST PAUL have much smaller collections. The Green Bay and Twin Cities sectionals provide wider VFR context, while the Minneapolis-St Paul Terminal Area Chart adds more focused coverage around the metropolitan area.
