Runway and procedure coverage

Crystal’s three-runway layout is not matched by runway-wide instrument coverage: only two of its six runway ends have published approaches, and both are RNAV (GPS). The runway dimensions also differ substantially. The 1,669 ft turf parallel is less than half the length of the 3,751 ft asphalt runway, so the two parallel runways do not provide equivalent available length.

Local chart context

Nearby procedure coverage varies sharply. Minneapolis–St Paul has by far the broadest chart set, while St Paul Downtown, Flying Cloud and Anoka County/Blaine also have broader coverage than Crystal. South St Paul’s set is thinner. The Green Bay and Twin Cities sectionals provide broader visual-navigation context, supplemented by the more detailed Minneapolis–St Paul Terminal Area Chart.
