Stennis International’s five approach plates serve both ends of its single 8,498 ft runway. The mix of ILS, localiser, RNAV (GPS) and NDB procedures provides several forms of instrument guidance rather than concentrating coverage on one runway direction or one navigation method. Its length offers substantial distance for take-off and landing, although there is no alternative runway alignment.
Among nearby fields, KMJD and KBIX have chart sets closest in scale to KHSA’s, while KGPT has markedly broader coverage. KASD and M13 have thinner procedure sets. The New Orleans Sectional supplies broader visual-navigation context, while the US Gulf Coast Helicopter Route Chart adds helicopter-route information absent from the terminal procedures.
