Lakefront has three runways but published approaches serve only two of the six ends, concentrating instrument access on a small part of the runway layout. The four approach charts combine ILS and localiser capability with two RNAV (GPS) procedures and VOR coverage. At 6,879 ft, 18R/36L provides substantially more runway length than either of the other two strips, making the difference relevant for aircraft requiring a longer landing or take-off distance.
Nearby KMSY and KNBG have chart sets comparable in breadth to Lakefront’s, while KASD, KAPS and KMJD have much thinner published coverage. The New Orleans sectional and terminal area charts add wider visual context beyond the airport procedures, while the US Gulf Coast Helicopter Route Chart provides the corresponding helicopter-route coverage.
