Long Island Mac Arthur combines ILS, RNAV (GPS) and localiser procedures, giving instrument coverage to four of its six conventional runway ends. The mix provides both precision and satellite-based options, but it does not cover every runway direction. Runway lengths differ substantially: 06/24 extends beyond 7,000 ft, while 15L/33R is less than half that length, so the shorter runway serves a much narrower range of aircraft than the principal strip.
Republic has an equally broad published chart set, while Francis S Gabreski is somewhat thinner and Brookhaven, Bridgeport/Sikorsky and Tweed/New Haven carry appreciably fewer procedures.
