Nellis AFB pairs two parallel concrete runways of almost equal length, each exceeding 10,000 ft, so neither strip introduces a significant length reduction relative to the other. Published approaches serve three of the four runway ends. The set includes two ILS and three localiser procedures, giving several forms of aligned instrument guidance while leaving one end without a published approach.
Nearby procedure coverage varies sharply. Harry Reid International has a much broader chart set, while Henderson Executive and North Las Vegas are closer to Nellis in overall coverage. Boulder City Municipal and Mesquite have markedly thinner sets. For visual planning, the Las Vegas and Los Angeles sectionals provide broader regional context, supplemented by the more detailed Las Vegas Terminal Area Chart.
