Three runway ends, one approach type

Pocono Mountains Regional has RNAV (GPS) procedure coverage for three of its four runway ends, so both runway alignments are represented while one reciprocal end has no published approach. All three approaches use the same navigation type, with no alternative approach family. The 1,002 ft difference between runway lengths is operationally significant: aircraft needing more than 3,999 ft have only the 5,001 ft alignment within KMPO’s published dimensions.

Nearby chart coverage

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International is the only listed nearby airport with a broader chart set, at eight charts against KMPO’s five. Blairstown, Wilkes-Barre Wyoming Valley and Cherry Ridge each have thinner three-chart sets, while Braden Airpark has two. The New York Sectional and New York Terminal Area Chart add regional and terminal-area VFR coverage beyond the procedure-specific instrument sheets.
