Approach coverage concentrated on one end

Montgomery-Gibbs Executive has ILS, localiser and RNAV (GPS) approach capability, but every published approach serves the same runway end. The remaining five runway ends therefore have no published instrument approach. Two departure procedures broaden the instrument set, while the airport diagram and hotspot chart provide ground-layout detail for the three-runway configuration and helipad.

Runway and surrounding chart context

The 4,598 ft runway provides nearly 1,200 ft more available length than either of the other two runways, making runway selection a substantial change in usable distance rather than merely alignment. Among nearby fields, KSAN has by far the broadest procedure collection, followed by KNZY and KNKX; KNRS has markedly thinner coverage. The Los Angeles Sectional supplies wider VFR context, while the San Diego Terminal Area Chart adds more focused terminal-area detail.

Common questions about KMYF

What charts are available for KMYF?

8 current FAA charts for Montgomery-Gibbs Exec, including 2 instrument approachs, 2 departure procedures, 1 airport diagram. All are free to download as PDFs from this page, from the 6 August 2026 cycle.

What are the radio frequencies for KMYF?

Tower 125.7; Ground 118.225; ATIS 126.9; CTAF 119.2; UNICOM 123.075; Clearance delivery 123.725. Full civil VHF list, with sector notes, is in the frequencies table on this page — from the FAA NASR subscription.

How long is the runway at KMYF?

Montgomery-Gibbs Exec has 4 runways. The longest is 10L/28R at 4,598 ft by 150 ft, asphalt. Full runway dimensions, lighting and approach aids are listed on this page.

Does KMYF have an ILS approach?

Yes — 1 ILS procedure is published. In total KMYF has 2 published instrument approaches, of which 1 are RNAV (GPS).

Where can I download the KMYF airport diagram?

The official FAA airport diagram for Montgomery-Gibbs Exec is free to download at the top of this page. It shows runways, taxiways, ramp layout and hold-short positions, and is reissued every 28 days.

Which runway do instrument approaches serve at KMYF?

Every published approach serves one runway end. There is no instrument procedure to the reciprocal direction, so an arrival in instrument conditions commits to that single approach direction regardless of the wind.

Is KMYF a towered airport?

Yes. Montgomery-Gibbs Exec has an operating control tower, within Los Angeles Center's airspace. Tower, ground and clearance frequencies are listed on this page.

How many runways does KMYF have?

4, which is why the chart set is as large as it is — each runway end that supports an instrument approach needs its own plates. The runway diagram on this page shows the layout to scale.

Are these KMYF charts current?

They are from the FAA cycle effective 6 August 2026, which is superseded on 3 September 2026. We publish each new cycle on its effective date. They are for flight simulation and reference only — not for real-world navigation.
