Mc Clellan-Palomar’s instrument procedures serve both ends of its sole fixed-wing runway, so coverage is not concentrated on one direction. The set is weighted towards RNAV (GPS), while the ILS adds a precision option and the localiser and VOR procedures retain conventional alternatives. With no second runway alignment, all fixed-wing procedures ultimately lead to the 4,897 ft 06/24 strip.
Camp Pendleton MCAS and Miramar MCAS have chart sets equal in overall size to Mc Clellan-Palomar’s. Bob Maxwell Memorial Airfield and Ramona have thinner coverage, while Fallbrook Community Airpark has the smallest nearby set. The Los Angeles sectional supplies broader visual-planning context; the San Diego terminal area chart adds a more detailed view around Carlsbad.
