Miramar MCAS has six approaches concentrated on two of its four runway ends, leaving the opposite ends without published approaches. The mix of ILS, RNAV (GPS) and localiser procedures provides three distinct forms of instrument guidance to the served ends. Its parallel runways share one alignment; the 12,000 ft runway offers almost 4,000 ft more length than the second, rather than providing a different directional option.
San Diego International has a substantially broader procedure set, while North Island NAS also exceeds Miramar’s coverage. Gillespie Field is closer in scale; Montgomery-Gibbs Executive and Ramona have notably thinner sets. The Los Angeles Sectional supplies wider-area VFR context, while the San Diego Terminal Area Chart adds more detailed visual coverage around the airport and neighbouring fields.
