Whiting Field NAS South has five instrument approaches, yet they serve only one runway end. Two ILS procedures, a localiser procedure and two RNAV (GPS) procedures provide several methods of reaching that single end, with two procedures designated for helicopters. The airport diagram is particularly useful for interpreting the layout of two intersecting, roughly 6,000 ft runways and six separate 100 ft helipads.
Nearby Whiting Field NAS North and Pensacola International have similarly broad or broader chart sets, while Peter Prince Field has much thinner published coverage. Brewton Municipal and Hurlburt Field sit between those extremes. The New Orleans Sectional supplies the wider visual aviation context, while the US Gulf Coast Helicopter Route Chart adds helicopter-specific route information beyond the airport’s terminal procedures.
