Procedure coverage

Three of Whiting Field NAS North’s four runway ends have published approaches, leaving one end without a corresponding instrument procedure. The mix of ILS, RNAV (GPS) and localiser procedures provides both ground-based and satellite-based approach coverage. Its two runways are almost identical in length at about 6,000 ft, so changing alignment brings no material difference in available runway distance.

Surrounding chart coverage

Nearby Whiting Field NAS South and Pensacola International have similarly broad procedure sets, while Peter Prince Field’s coverage is much thinner. Brewton Municipal and Hurlburt Field sit between those extremes. Beyond the terminal procedures, the New Orleans Sectional supplies wider visual-chart context, while the US Gulf Coast Helicopter Route Chart adds the published helicopter-route picture for the area.
