Trent Lott International’s single 6,501 ft runway has published approach coverage at both ends, rather than concentrating instrument access on one direction. The procedure mix combines RNAV (GPS) coverage with ILS and localiser guidance. With no second runway, every procedure ultimately leads to the same strip; the chart set provides directional coverage, but not an alternative runway alignment.
Nearby chart coverage varies sharply. Gulfport-Biloxi International has the broadest published set, while Mobile Regional, Mobile International and Keesler AFB also have more extensive coverage than PQL. St Elmo’s two-chart set is much thinner. The New Orleans Sectional supplies the wider VFR context absent from terminal procedures, while the US Gulf Coast Helicopter Route Chart adds helicopter-route information for the surrounding area.
