Oakland County International’s approach offering—one ILS, two RNAV (GPS) and two localiser procedures—is concentrated on only two of its six runway ends. The chart set is weighted strongly towards departures, with 14 departure charts against four IAP sheets, giving published departure routing much broader coverage than approaches.
The two parallel runways provide 5,676 ft and 6,521 ft of length, while the differently aligned 18/36 is only 2,582 ft and therefore presents a much tighter runway-length constraint. Among nearby fields, Oakland/Troy has comparably broad chart coverage; the other listed airports have only two to four charts each. The Detroit Sectional and Terminal Area Chart add wider VFR context, while the Detroit Helicopter Route Chart supplies helicopter-specific route coverage absent from the instrument procedures.
