Approach and runway coverage

Spirit of St Louis has instrument approaches serving all four ends of its two parallel runways, so coverage is not confined to one direction or one strip. The six approach plates combine ILS, RNAV (GPS) and localiser procedures. Runway length differs markedly: 08R/26L provides 2,486 ft more than the parallel 08L/26R, giving the charted layout two distinct length envelopes on the same alignment.

Surrounding chart context

St Louis Downtown has almost the same breadth of procedure coverage, while St Louis Lambert International has a much larger set. Creve Coeur, Washington Regional and St Charles County Regional/Smartt Field have substantially thinner coverage. The two sectional charts add wider-area VFR context, while the St Louis Terminal Area Chart supplies more focused visual detail around St Louis.
