Procedure coverage

Waukegan NTL’s instrument coverage is concentrated on two of its four runway ends. Three approach plates provide two RNAV (GPS) procedures plus ILS and localiser options, leaving the opposite ends without published approaches. Four departure procedures give the chart set slightly greater emphasis on outbound routing. The 6,001 ft runway supports operations requiring more distance, while the 3,750 ft crossing runway provides a second alignment within a substantially shorter length.

Nearby and VFR coverage

Chicago Executive and Kenosha Regional have similarly broad chart sets, with Batten International only slightly thinner. Campbell and Galt Field each have much more limited procedure coverage. For visual planning, the Chicago Sectional supplies wider regional context, while the Chicago Terminal Area Chart adds a more detailed view of the surrounding terminal area.
