Soldotna’s three approaches serve two runway ends, with RNAV (GPS) procedures supplemented by a VOR procedure. That gives the field both satellite-based and conventional approach coverage rather than concentrating every procedure on a single end. No airport diagram is published.
The 5,001 ft asphalt runway is more than twice the length of the 2,300 ft gravel-dirt strip, so the two runway options accommodate markedly different runway-length requirements. Among nearby fields, Ted Stevens Anchorage International has by far the broadest chart set; Kenai Municipal and Homer have more modest but still broader coverage than Soldotna, while Seward is similar and Lake Hood much thinner. The Anchorage, McGrath and Seward sectional charts add wider visual and route-planning context beyond the terminal procedures.
