Approach coverage is concentrated

Kenai Muni combines ILS, RNAV (GPS), VOR and localiser procedures, but all published approaches serve only two runway ends. This gives those ends several instrument procedure types while leaving most listed runway ends without one. The 7,855 ft paved alignment is nearly four times the length of the 1,980 ft gravel alignment, while the 4,600 ft water runway and two helipads add distinctly different operating areas. The airport diagram and hotspot chart clarify this varied ground layout.

Regional chart context

Ted Stevens Anchorage International has far broader procedure coverage nearby. Homer and Merrill Field are much closer to Kenai’s chart volume, Soldotna is thinner, and Lake Hood has only a single published chart. Three sectional charts and the Anchorage-Fairbanks Terminal Area Chart add wider VFR context beyond the airport diagram and instrument procedures.
