Lake Hood’s sole published procedure chart is its airport diagram: there are no instrument approach or departure charts in this cycle. The diagram is particularly useful for distinguishing one 2,200 ft gravel-dirt runway from three water runways on different alignments. At 4,541 ft, the east/west water runway is more than twice the length of the 1,369 ft south-east/north-west water runway, a substantial difference within the same field.
Ted Stevens Anchorage International has the broadest nearby procedure coverage, followed by Elmendorf AFB, while Merrill Field’s set is smaller and Bryant AAF and Big Lake have much thinner coverage. The three sectional charts and Anchorage-Fairbanks Terminal Area Chart provide wider geographical and terminal-area context absent from Lake Hood’s airport diagram.
